Okay, $13 million does’t look like much by now’s standards that are inflated. But back in 1989, it was considered a tremendous amount. The truth is, Koncak, a 7’0″ centre, was really getting paid more that year than Mr. Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. Silly? Absolutely! But according to Koncak, it was warranted. He said “The league is transforming. I believe perhaps this is only the beginning.” Obviously, Koncak never lived up to the hoopla. Hey, Hawks, what you thought?
