Finding a way to walk down the aisle got a bit tricky for this bride.
Angelique Arsenault was traveling to her wedding with her bridal party when the limousine they were in got a flat tire. Arsenault, who was in her wedding dress and ready to go, wasn’t going to let a minor bump in the road stop her and stuck her thumb out looking to hitchhike in order to make it to the ceremony on time.
“Honestly, for something kind of crazy that happened she was just happy and knew she was going to get there,”, Katie Queen, Arsenault’s maid of honor, shared with ABC News. “And I think the champagne helped. There was a lot champagne flowing.”
It took about 15 minutes before a man named Jay pulled over to see what he could do and assist the bridal party.
“Jay, the guy who saved the day, came by and said, ‘Let me drop off my kids and I’ll be right back,’” Queen explained. “He came and he got five of us in the car, the bridal party, and drove us there. We were like, ‘Jay why don’t you come to the wedding?’ He was like, ‘No I’m OK,’ but he was awesome.”
Arsenault and her bridal party were about 30 minutes late to the ceremony, however the groom knew she would show up.
“I’m pretty sure that after 11 years he knew she was going to show up,” Queen said.
The couple is now looking forward to their honeymoon in Maine. Hopefully the trip will be smooth sailing!
